From Nov. 18-Dec. 7, 2022, the Middle School Community Service Committee worked together with sophomore Reese Ruttenberg to organize a school-wide Angel Tree donation drive to benefit Fox Families Care, a local nonprofit organization that works to bridge the gap between the needs and resources of children and families in the Fox Chapel Area School District.
Ruttenberg brought the tree with angel tags to the Middle School, and the Community Service Committee members created posters, administered tags and collected the gift cards. As a result, Middle School students and families generously fulfilled all 50 gift card requests for the Angel Tree, totaling $2,500.
Congratulations to the Community Service Committee, faculty advisors, Kelli Wood and Lauren Messner and Reese, on a successful service learning project, and thank you to all of the Middle School families who donated to help make the holidays a little brighter for our neighbors in need!
