Lt. Col. Michael Starz '93 Visits Lower Schools for Veterans Day Assemblies
United States Army Lieutenant Colonel and Shady Side Academy alumnus Michael Starz '93 visited the Junior School and Country Day School all-school assemblies on Monday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 11, respectively, to speak to the students about his career in the Army and about the meaning of Veterans Day.
Lt. Col. Starz joined the Army at age 18 and received an appointment at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has served seven deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Korea, and commanded the eight-nation advisor mission in Ukraine. At SSA, he was a classmate of Academy President Bart Griffith '93.
