Alma Mater

Glory to Shady Side, her praises sing;
Faith, honor, loyalty as gifts we bring.
Inspire us through the years; e'er remain our pride.
Glory to our Alma Mater, Shady Side.

So stand throughout the years revered and true;
Guard our mem'ries safely for us, we'll keep faith with you.
Joy, hope and trust in thee ever will abide,
Glory to our Alma Mater, Shady Side.

Listen to the alma mater performed by the SSA Concert Choir.

The piano on which the alma mater was composed and the original hand-written score (pictured below) can be found inside the lower entrance of the Hillman Center for Performing Arts on the SSA Senior School campus. Both were donated to the Academy by Howard's son, Art (Class of 1958).
