Gifts to Shady Side Academy provide the necessary tools for the best educational experience for our students. Generosity from donors also affords the ability to attract and retain qualified faculty and staff.

The Campaign for Shady Side

The Campaign for Shady Side is the next great phase of the school we have always been.

The campaign will help transform science education at Shady Side, make an SSA education more accessible, support our faculty, and strengthen our Blue & Gold Fund.

The $31 million goal is ambitious, but as a community, we have the opportunity to make a significant impact at Shady Side.

Campaign Initiatives and Goals

Science, Technology and Innovation Facilities [$16 million]

Transform STEM education at Shady Side by investing in state-of-the-art science and technology facilities that encourage collaboration, discovery and inquiry: the new McIlroy Center for Science and Innovation and maker space/fabrication lab at the Senior School; and science lab renovations at the Middle and Junior Schools.

Financial Aid for Students and Families [$4 million]

Invest to keep a Shady Side Academy education accessible and renew the strength of our school community as more and more families choose Pittsburgh.

Faculty Excellence [$4 million]

Support our faculty as they explore the most promising new ideas in teaching and learning – constantly renewing the Shady Side experience that our students have known for generations.

Blue & Gold Fund [$7 million]
