College Admission Representative Visits
Each year many admission representatives visit Shady Side, primarily in the fall. These meetings provide valuable information for our students about these schools and also provide students with a means to demonstrate interest in a
college, which can enhance a student's chance
for admission. Occasionally, representatives will also conduct admission interviews here on campus, depending on the representatives' availability. It is important for students to attend the visit session for any school that they're interested in learning more about, and certainly for those colleges to which they intend to apply.
Seniors are permitted to miss class to attend any visit scheduled provided that they:
- notify the teacher in advance of the date that they will miss class.
- will not miss a test or paper that is due.
- sign up in advance, either online through Family Connection or in the Kassling College Counseling Center (KCCC).
Juniors are permitted to attend these sessions ONLY if they occur during a free period. Juniors can sign up online through Family Connection or in the Kassling College Counseling Center.
Meetings usually take place in the KCCC. Students will be reminded about upcoming visits via e-mail three days in advance of the visit through Family Connection. Students should also regularly check the visit schedule on Family Connection. To view the list of scheduled visits of college admission representatives, visit the Family Connection site, click "enter as guest" and select "visit schedule" from the menu on the left.
