Taking Camp to the Next Level

Camp Ren is a traditional summer day camp devoted to maintaining a developmentally appropriate experience for Middle School students by engaging their body, mind and spirit through arts, sciences, sports and fun social interactions. Far from offering another series of boring summer classes or endless hours playing tetherball, Camp Ren combines a traditional day camp experience with the opportunity to learn new and exciting skills and environments.

Campers will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art facilities on the Shady Side Academy Senior School campus. Art and music students will benefit from the excellent acoustics and artistic workspace of the Hillman Center for Performing Arts and Benedum Visual Arts Center. Rowe Hall and the entire Senior School campus will serve as the backdrop for science and technology students. Although the buildings are air conditioned, there will be no need when campers are out on the fields blasting rockets into the sky! New this year will be learning about and working on the SSA Farm!

The eight-hour days allow for the perfect combination of social, athletic and learning environments. All campers will join together for lunch, to participate in planned programs during the mid-afternoon, as well as to partake in the big celebration and barbeque during the final weeks of camp. In addition, all campers will pursue culminating projects that will unite their learned skills.

Session 2: July 1–12, 2013
Session 3: July 15–26, 2013

Cost:
*Individual Session (2 Weeks): $695
*Full Summer (Six Weeks): $1,895

After May 1, 2013, there is a $50 cancelation fee. All camps closed July 4.

*There is a 40% discount for counselor-in-training campers entering grade 9.
There are a limited number of full and partial camper scholarships available.

Families with three or more children enrolled in Pre-K Day Camp Discovery, Day Camp Discovery or Camp Ren will receive a 10% discount against the total camp tuition cost, excluding transportation.
