Senior Earns First Chair at PMEA Region Chorus

Shady Side Academy senior Blake Beckemeyer has been named first chair in the tenor section for the Pennsylvania Music Educators (PMEA) Region Chorus, which will be held Saturday, March 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Moon Area High School. Dr. Anthony Leach from Penn State University will be the guest conductor. Beckemeyer won the first chair after auditioning at the PMEA District 1 Chorus Festival on Feb. 8 .

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of over 5,000 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities.
