SSA Rower Wins Gold With U.S. Team at CanAmMex Regatta
Shady Side Academy rising senior and accomplished rower Maddy Pollock won a gold medal as part of the U.S. national team at the 2012 CanAmMex Regatta in Mexico City in July. The CanAmMex Regatta is a competition featuring the best rowers from Canada, Mexico and the United States. Pollock and her three U.S. teammates, all from the West Coast, won the gold medal in the 18-and-under four-person 2000-meter competition. Pollock was named to the U.S. team after being invited to the US Rowing Junior Development Program, a four-week camp in Milford, Conn., from which three national teams were selected.
