Shady Side Academy rising seniors Josh Loper and Joe Bray have been selected to the 5th Annual MSA Sports/Kennywood 2012 Pre-Season All Star Football Team. Loper, a defensive lineman, and Bray, an offensive lineman, were among the 27 WPIAL players named to the team. Players were nominated based on their statistics from the 2011 season, and then chosen for the team based on results of an MSA online poll, through which more than 47,000 individual votes were cast.
The awards presentation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m., at the Kennyville Stage in Kennywood Park (rain location: Parkside Cafe). The awards presentation also will be broadcast live online at www.msasports.net.
