Six members of the Shady Side Academy varsity girls lacrosse team were honored with a number of awards at the conclusion of the 2012 season.
Recent graduates Kara Pooley and Felicia Tissenbaum, rising senior Lia Winter and rising sophomore Charlotte Redican were named to the Western Pennsylvania National Team.
Recent graduate Alexis Concordia, Tissenbaum and Winter were named as WPIAL Division 1 Section 1 All-Stars, with Tissenbaum also named a Division 1 All-Star. Condordia and Winter were honorable mention Division 1 All-Stars.
Concordia, Tissenbaum, Winter and fellow 2012 graduate Annie Pooley were named as U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-Americans. Winter was also named an All-American.
