Shady Side Academy Magazine was honored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with a Bronze Award in the 2012 Circle of Excellence Awards in the Independent School Magazines category.
The CASE Circle of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding work in the educational advancement field. The awards acknowledge superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results. The program includes 40 categories of awards representing advancement services, alumni relations, communications and marketing, fundraising, and integrated advancement projects. The Circle of Excellence Awards are judged by panels of peer advancement practitioners who understand the challenges, opportunities and rewards inherent in the advancement profession.
A total of 36 entries were received in the Independent School Magazines category; Emma Willard School (N.Y)'s Emma and Deerfield Academy (Mass.)'s Deerfield Magazine won the gold and silver awards, respectively.
Shady Side Academy Magazine is published twice a year by the SSA Communications Office and mailed to more than 10,000 Shady Side alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends. Through news and feature stories about the Academy's people and programs, the magazine strives to keep readers connected to and engaged with the Academy and each other. CASE is an international professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. CASE helps its members build stronger relationships with their alumni and donors, raise funds for campus projects, produce recruitment materials, market their institutions to prospective students, diversify the profession and foster public support of education.
