Annual Giving

This year, you now have the choice to contribute to overall operating expenses, or to make an impact on an area of interest by designating your gift to a particular Shady Side program.

Gifts to the Annual Giving program through the Blue & Gold Family of Funds go directly to the operations and program enhancements for the school, as we set a goal of $1,100,000 for the 2009-10 year.

You can choose between eight funds to make your gift impact a specific aspect of Shady Side life. Equally supported by current parents, Blue vs. Gold Teams, parents of alumni, and alumni, your support offers our students the finest educational experiences. Thank you for your support!

Reunion Giving

Each year, the alumni from the reunion classes are asked to increase their annual giving contributions in honor of their graduation celebration and in appreciation of the excellence in education that continues to thrive at Shady Side Academy.

Schools Greatest Need & General Support

You are allowing the Academy to use your gift where it is most vitally needed. These funds will be used to support the operating budget, which directly benefits our teachers, programs and operations.

Financial Aid Fund

Providing financial aid resources to enroll a student population that is highly diverse, talented and motivated to succeed in Shady Side's unique community.

Faculty Fund

Enabling faculty members to grow and share professionally throughout their careers, gifts to this fund will support teacher work in all academic departments, including professional development activities and curricular planning.

Science & Technology Fund

Providing current hardware, software, lab spaces and the finest curriculum across the three campuses, so that Shady Side students are at the cutting edge of the science and technology revolution.

Arts Fund

From the PK program to the Senior School, as individuals and groups, Shady Side students are immersed in activities that foster life-long appreciation of the arts while inspiring personal creativity and individual expression through theater, music, dance, technical and visual arts.

Athletics Fund

Offering excellent opportunities for superb competition with championship teams, unlimited exercise, as well as character development through teamwork and self-respect.

Buildings & Grounds Fund

Shady Side's unique architecture, dormitories, outdoor learning spaces, labs and our verdant campuses require constant care and attention. You can designate your gift to help maintain the academic and athletic facilities on all campuses, or choose one of the Junior, Middle or Senior School campuses.

Library Fund

Enabling students to become self-learners and reach their highest potential, this fund provides access to global information and the necessary tools and resources to conduct research and solve intellectual challenges.
