We all know that summer schedules can become packed pretty quickly with vacation, family fun and trips to the pool. Plus, with the vast array of programming that is offered in the Pittsburgh area, it can become a burdensome task to plan a great summer. New for Summer 2013!
Shady Side Academy's summer programs are incredibly flexible, providing an endless array of possibilities for all kids. Some of our newest options for 2013 include:
Come and join us for the second year of Shady Side Academy’s week-long Focus Camps! Each fun and exciting camp is focused on specific skills to further develop your children's mind, body and spirit. Fun games and creative activities supplement the learning process, all while located on Shady Side Academy’s Senior School campus.
In order to make our K-5 day camp an even cooler experience, all sessions this summer will remain two weeks long! That means all of the projects and activities will be doubly awesome! Our staff has been hard at work throughout the winter, preparing new games, exciting field trip options and a couple of special programs for our oldest campers. We will once again offer the popular activity of Land Sports, where campers will learn and play familiar and new sports. Campers will also have the opportunity to visit the new SSA Farm as part of our Outdoor Adventure program.
Get ready for another awesome summer of Camp Ren, the most innovative and exciting middle school program in the region. As it rolls into its fifth summer, Camp Ren will be completely changing the Business program - get ready for more information about some of the super-fun projects in store! Plus campers will have the opportunity to visit and work on the SSA Farm. Coupled with the return of classically popular activities of Swimming, Glass and Robotics, and a few surprise overnight trips and sleepovers, Camp Ren is getting excited for the best summer ever!
SSA Summer Programs will host a number of sports camps run by some of Shady Side's finest coaches. Campers will have the chance to develop fundamental skills in a positive and interactive setting. Kids will have the chance to participate in up to three different sports camps over the course of the summer. We will offer week-long programs in hockey, soccer, girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse and baseball.
Bulk up that college application! Our Summer School will again offer three week-long sections of College Essay Workshops, giving your children the chance to work one-on-one with an expert! We also will be offering Health I and Health II, a great opportunity to take a shorter class over the summer. Finally, students wishing to get ready for high school level math, but not quite ready to take a full-credit course, will have an option for a two-week, half-day Math Prep course.
