The biggest event of Third Grade is the State Fair! The
children spend 3 months researching and preparing for the big day! Each child
is assigned a state. The student also receives an informational book as well
as many factual sheets gathered from Third Grade materials. Using these materials,
the student prepares a letter describing a trip through the state, an ABC
Book of facts, a series of postcards, a series of four mini-biographies about
people from the state, a diorama, a t-shirt complete with a state slogan,
and a recipe containing a food item unique to the state. This journey through
the United States is indeed the favored event of the year.
