4th Grade performs Colorful Kingdom for Pre-Kindergarten On Friday, February 15, 2008, Junior School 4th Graders performed Colorful Kingdom, a musical fable that celebrates cultural diversity, for Pre-K students in the Junior School's Music Room. Carol Young, Junior School Music, directed the production. The play tells the tale of a kingdom that becomes bored with its day-to-day routine. The king decides to enlist the help of a wizard to make life more exciting for his subjects, and the wizard changes the kingdom to red. The citizens quickly become bored with their red kingdom, and a succession of wizards makes the kingdom a variety of colors. In the end, the wizards convene and realize the kingdom would benefit from being a rainbow of colors, illustrating the importance of variety and diversity within their community. |
