After-School Discovery
Session One: September 8 - October 16, 2008
Shady Side Academy’s Junior School provides after-school time
full of joyful play and professional supervision in a familiar and secure
environment. For children who require after-school care, Shady Side provides
both a safe, supervised program of guided discovery for students who want
to enrich their daily experience with new lessons and activities, as well
as a program of supervised play and study time. Students can choose from a
combination of:
CALENDAR
After-School Discovery at Shady Side Academy follows the Junior School
calendar. When school is not in session, the program does not meet.
REGISTRATION
Students can choose to participate in any combination of programs.
The programs are designed to meet the needs of your schedule and your child's
interests.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can register on our website, www.shadysideacademy.org/afterschooldiscovery, or complete a paper registration form for each child and send to: Shady Side Academy, After-School Discovery, 400 South Braddock Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15221. You will be billed by the school. Please do not send payment with the form.
You will receive confirmation of your registration. No refunds will be made after programs begin. There will be no discounts for absence regardless of cause. Shady Side Academy reserves the right to cancel any program for which there is insufficient enrollment.
RUNNING LATE?
Call and let the After-School Discovery Staff know! They are
available by cell phone from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at 412-352-7651. After-School
Supervised Study and Play ends promptly at 6:00 PM.
A late charge of $1 per minute will be assessed for any child picked up after
that time. Abuse of late pick up may result in denial of participation
in After-School Discovery.
A daily rate for After-School Discovery Supervised Play and Study only is available, should you encounter an unexpected delay. This is based on available space in the program and is charged at a flat rate of $28 for all or part of the afternoon.
Students in After-School Discovery classes must be picked up promptly at 4:30 PM. Any child not picked up will be placed under the supervision of the After-School Discovery staff and the family will be charged accordingly.
