| Studio Art 3D: Mr. Goodwin |
Overview Students will explore a variety of subject matter, materials and techniques specific to three dimensional design in sculptural media as a means of furthering their understanding of the design objectives that are based upon the visual organization skills which are taught in Studio One. It is essential that three dimensional design follow two dimensional design to allow the student to develop the visualization skills necessary to effectively pursue assignment goals.
All Studio Art courses are meant to give the student an understanding of the studio workshops in which the projects takes place. To that end all students are taught to identify and properly use the terms, techniques, and materials that are related to assignments and assignment goals. All Studio Art courses are intended to give students a better understanding of their subjects by supporting assignment material with references to Art Historical material, museum sites, internet and library resources, exhibitions, visiting artists, and off campus learning resources,.
Studio Art is divided into three sections, (Studio Art One, Studio Art 2-D, and Studio Art 3-D), that can be taken during any term of the school year. The art dept requires that students who wish to take the complete course of Studio Art, must take Studio Art classes in sequence, as in Studio Art One, 2-D, and 3-D. This sequence of courses can be taken in three consecutive terms or spread out over the four years at the academy. The complete sequence of Studio Art courses must be taken to qualify for admission into Advanced Art, Photography, Architecture, and Digital Imaging.
