| BC Calculus I (AP): Dr. G. C. Ashworth |
Overview: This course is the second half of the trigonometry/calculus sequence for those mathematics students who are tracked for Advanced Placement BC Calculus. It appears on a student's transcript as a 2-credit course. A packet of problems is used from mid-November until mid-Janaury. These problems cover a review of major algebra and trigonometry topics, as well as mathematical induction, roots of equations, and the Binomial Theorem and resulting infinite series. There is no final examination on this material. The calculus is taught during the second semester (mid January until the end of May), and covers precalculus review and differential calculus. The final examination at the end of May covers only the material taught in this calculus section of the course. This final examination is 20% of the final grade for this 2-credit course. |
Syllabus: Packet of problems used between mid-November and mid-January. |
