| Grade 7 - Health/PE: Ms. Gorse |
Overview The Physical Education program strives to reach students of all ability levels and directly encourages their psychomotor, cognitive and affective growth. It strongly encourages students to adopt regular physical activity as a means of maintaining physical health and as an avenue towards wellness. Students are exposed to a variety of developmentally appropriate curricular offerings that include lifetime as well as team sports, dance activities, aerobic activities, cooperative group activities and the Presidential Physical Fitness tests. The purpose of the Middle School Health program is to help students become more aware of various concepts and issues in the field of health and to encourage them to take an increased responsibility for their personal health and wellness on a lifelong basis. By providing students now with the tools, knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, it will allow them the opportunity toattain a high level of physical, mental and social wellness throughout their lifetime. |
