Overview |
| The earth science course integrates reading, writing and thinking skills with scientific investigation. Scientific investigations are conducted through laboratory experimentation, library research and during field trips to museums and a local creek. Course information is presented using both a traditional lecture format, and through hands on laboratory activities. Topics covered include: the nature of science, minerals, rocks, weathering, erosion, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, geologic time, weather, pollution and astronomy. |
