Grade 6 - Science: Mr. Brunner

Overview

The earth science course integrates reading, writing and thinking skills with scientific investigation.  Scientific investigations are conducted through laboratory experimentation, library research and during field trips to museums and a local creek.  Course information is presented using both a traditional lecture format, and through hands on laboratory activities.  Topics covered include:  the nature of science, minerals, rocks, weathering, erosion, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, geologic time, weather, pollution and astronomy.
