Mrs. Modoono's and Mrs. Anselmo's second grade classrooms enjoyed a triple treat at Phipps Conservatory on November 8, 2007. The trip was planned as a culminating activity to the Rainforest Unit. While at Phipps not only did the students get to see rainforest favorites like bromeliads, epiphytes, cacao trees, vanilla orchids, and many leaves with drip tips, but the children were also treated to a preview to their upcoming unit on the Desert as they toured the cactus room. As if that weren't enough, the Chihuly Glass Exhibit was in full swing at Phipps, and the boys and girls were simply dazzled by the colorful blown glass that is artistically placed amid the plants. The teachers and children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
