Four members of the Shady Side Academy Senior School Speech and Debate Team competed in the Pennsylvania High School Speech League (PHSSL) State Tournament, held at Bloomsburg University March 17-18.

Senior Nathan Genstein earned the Outstanding Speaker award in Congress House, making him the PA state champion in that event.

Senior Caldwell Holden earned a place in the semifinals in Persuasive Speaking with his speech entitled More Than a Title.

Also competing for SSA were senior Anya Satyawadi in Commentary and freshman Max Minard in Humorous Interpretation.
