Senior School Students Support Produce to People

On Saturday, Dec. 10, four students from the Shady Side Academy Senior School Service Learning Club participated in a Produce to People distribution with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Sophomores Gabby White and Brooklynne Lowry and juniors Nathan Boyd and Eliza Fisher helped the Food Bank to organize and distribute produce to community members in Homewood. Senior School librarian and director of service learning Lindsey Myers chaperoned the students.

Produce to People is the Food Bank's large-scale produce distribution program. Each family receives 30-50 pounds of food, mostly fresh produce. Produce to People is an additional resource to your local pantry providing 17 distributions each month at 17 different sites.
