On Monday, May 22, No. 11 Shady Side Academy fell to No. 3 Mt. Pleasant, 10-6, in the quarterfinals of the WPIAL AAA Baseball Championship.

SSA led 1-0 when the Vikings put three runs up in the third and five more in the fourth. In the sixth, an error helped Shady Side score twice, and an error and wild pitch in the seventh helped SSA score twice more before sophomore Billy Frohlich hit his second straight double to get Shady Side within four.

SSA finishes the season with a 7-11 overall record. The team is coached by Bob Grandizio Jr. '91. Congrats on a great season!
