Air Force Brigadier General Roy Uptegraff III '73 spoke about the importance of moral courage and related his 2011 experience leading an air refueling base in Spain for the combat strike support aircraft that were enforcing UN Security Council Resolution 1973 and its no-fly zone over Libya.

A former submarine officer, Navy Lieutenant Bradley Harrison '98 spoke about his time as a casualty assistance calls officer and how his experience assisting a traumatically injured Navy Seal and his family impacted his life. He recalled how the SSA Junior School motto "Do It Because It's Right" has stuck with him, and he encouraged students to get to know a veteran.

After the veterans spoke, music teacher Dr. Dan Brill directed the Chamber Choir in a beautiful performance of Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier, with a soprano solo by junior Brooke Dickey.
